Summary
Capture Words does not collect any data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs. Photos you take, the stickers and words made from them, and the cards you save are processed and stored only on your iPhone.
How a snap works
When you snap an object or pick a photo, Capture Words cuts the object out with Apple's on-device image tools (Vision) and suggests English words with an image model that runs on your iPhone. Words are read aloud with the iPhone's built-in voice. None of this is sent to us or to any server. The original photo is not kept — only the sticker you save.
How a page scan works
When you scan a page, the text is read with Apple's on-device text recognition. Cards are written by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence) where your iPhone supports it, or by simple fill-in-the-blank rules inside the app. The photo is not saved.
What stays on your iPhone

Deleting a deck deletes its cards. Deleting a room deletes its background photo. Deleting the app deletes everything. If you use iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), this data is included in your backup by Apple like any other app data.

Choosing an existing photo (for a snap, a scan or a room background) uses the iOS photo picker: Capture Words only sees the photos you pick, not your library.
Sharing
If you share a room picture or export a deck to CSV, the file goes wherever you choose in the iOS share sheet. Capture Words does not send it anywhere on its own.
Network
Capture Words makes no network connections of its own. Links to this website open in your browser.
Purchases
Capture Words is free. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Children
Capture Words collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
