Screenshot YouTube+Add to Chrome

For creators, teachers and note-takers

Grab a clean frame from any video.

A Chrome extension that adds a camera button to every YouTube video. One click or Ctrl+Shift+S saves the frame without the player controls on top. Burst mode grabs a run of frames, and a gallery keeps your last 100 shots.

  • Free, no subscription
  • No account · no cloud
  • Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + S

What you get

The frame, not the player.

Press Print Screen on a video and you get the title, the progress bar and a row of buttons on top of it. Screenshot YouTube+ captures the frame itself, ready for a thumbnail, a slide or your notes.

Sound familiar?

Screenshots of videos come out messy.

Controls

The play bar sits right on top

You pause, take a screenshot, and half the picture is buttons and a red progress line.

Crop

Then you crop it by hand

Open an editor, crop the frame, save it, rename it. For every single shot.

Timing

The moment is gone in a blink

The frame you want lasts a fraction of a second. Pausing at the right one takes ten tries.

Scattered

Shots everywhere on your desktop

How it works

Captured in three steps.

  1. 1

    Play a video

A camera button appears on every YouTube video. Pause on the moment you want, or let it play.

  2. 2

    Capture

Click the button or press Ctrl+Shift+S (Cmd+Shift+S on Mac). Alt+Click keeps just the video frame; Shift+Click starts burst mode.

  3. 3

    Open the gallery

Click the toolbar icon or press Ctrl+Shift+G to see every capture. View, copy, download or delete each one.

Good to know

Questions before you install.

Will the YouTube controls show up in my screenshot?

No. Captures are taken without the play bar, buttons and overlays, so you get the frame itself, like a thumbnail.

What is burst mode?

It captures a run of frames one after another while the video plays. Start it with Ctrl+Shift+B or Shift+Click on the camera button.

Where are my screenshots saved?

In the gallery inside your browser, which keeps your last 100 captures. Download the ones you want to your Downloads folder, with the video title and timestamp in the file name.

Does it upload my screenshots?

No. Captures stay in your browser. There is no cloud, no account and no tracking.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free, with no subscription.
