Summary
RAM Rescue runs on your Mac and sends nothing about you or your Mac anywhere. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs. The only network call is checking a Pro license key with Lemon Squeezy, the store that sells it.
What RAM Rescue reads on your Mac
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
The list of running processes and their memory (ps, vm_stat, sysctl) | To show what uses your memory and quit what you choose |
Listening TCP ports (lsof) and a health check to localhost only | To show your local servers and whether they answer |
| Project files in the folders you add | To find projects you can start and stop |
| Sizes of cache folders (Xcode, npm, browsers…) | To show what Clean can free |
The frontmost app (lsappinfo), Pro idle rules only | To know if an app has not been used for a while |
What RAM Rescue saves on your Mac
Settings, Guard settings and a 24-hour memory history in ~/Library/Application Support/server-hub/; app icons it showed in
~/Library/Caches/server-hub/; the trial start date and your license key in your login Keychain. None of it leaves your Mac.
License key (Pro only)
When you activate a key, and about once a week after that, RAM Rescue sends the key, an activation id and your Mac's name (so you can tell your Macs apart in your order) to Lemon Squeezy to check it. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy; we never see your payment details.
Children
RAM Rescue is not directed at children.
