Finder tricks every Mac user should know
Finder looks simple, but a handful of shortcuts turn it into a fast file manager. None of these need an extra app.

Preview any file
SpaceSelect a file and press Space for Quick Look. Press Space again to close, or the arrow keys to move to the next file.

Show hidden files
⌘⇧.Shows dotfiles and system folders, dimmed. Press again to hide them.

Copy a file path
⌥⌘CCopies the full path of the selected file or folder. You can also right-click, hold Option and choose Copy as Pathname.

Cut and paste (move) files
⌘Cthen⌥⌘VCopy as usual with ⌘C, then press ⌥⌘V in the destination to move the files instead of copying them.

Go to any folder by typing
⌘⇧GType a path like ~/Library or /usr/local and press Return. Tab completes folder names.

Always see where you are
⌥⌘PTurns on the path bar at the bottom of the window. Double-click any folder in it to jump there.

Move to Trash from the keyboard
⌘⌫Moves the selection to the Trash. ⌘Z right after puts it back.
