MAC MENU BAR FREE
AgentBell
Your AI agent is waiting. AgentBell taps you.
A free menu bar app for people who run Claude Code or Codex in the terminal. When Claude is waiting for your approval or your reply, or an agent finishes, AgentBell plays a sound and shows a big banner, even over a full-screen app. Click it to jump back to your terminal.
Free. No account, no ads, and nothing leaves your Mac. Need a custom feature for you or your team? Contact us.

GETTING STARTED
A SIMPLER WAY TO START.
Connect in one click
Press Connect next to Claude Code or Codex. AgentBell saves a backup of the config file first, and Remove puts it back exactly as it was.
Go do something else
Switch apps, read the docs, grab a coffee. AgentBell sits quietly in your menu bar.
Get tapped
When Claude needs you, you hear a sound and see a banner at the top of the screen. Click Go to Terminal, answer, and the agent keeps going.
GOOD TO KNOW.
Is AgentBell free?
Yes. Every feature is free: Claude Code and Codex alerts, reminders if you have not answered, sounds, Quiet for 1 hour and jump to terminal. No account and no ads.
Can you build a custom version?
Yes. If you want AgentBell to do more for you or your team, such as other agents, Slack or phone alerts, or a team setup, send us a message from the contact page.
What does it change on my Mac?
Connect adds a small hook to ~/.claude/settings.json, or one notify line to ~/.codex/config.toml. A backup is saved first, and Remove takes out only what AgentBell added.
Does it answer the agent for me?
No. AgentBell only tells you the agent is waiting. You always read and answer in your terminal, so nothing gets approved by accident.
Which terminals does it work with?
Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, Warp and the VS Code terminal. Clicking a banner brings that app to the front. Codex only reports when it finishes, not when it waits for approval.
Which Mac does it support?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. The app is signed and notarized by Apple.
